Character Value
Character value depends upon how central the character is to the story.
Main Characters are worth 100 points. Minor characters are worth 200 points. Occassionally
a character who appears only briefly is included in the game. These characters can be worth 300 points
or more.
Deductions
Each time you incorrectly guess a character name from the list, click to see the book cover, or reveal a clue, points are
deducted from the current round. When your score for any round reaches zero, the round ends. These points are not deducted from your total score.
Deductions:
Guessing a name: 20 points
Viewing the book cover: 5 points
Revealing a clue: the point value shown
Current Point Value
The Current Point Value is the Character Value minus Deductions for your guesses and clues revealed.
This value drops each time you make an incorrect guess, reveal a clue, or peek at the book cover.
Your Total Points
Your total points are maintained in a database online. You can view your position on the leaderboard by clicking the HIGH SCORES button.
Your total points can never go down. You are not charged points for failing to correctly guess a character.
